Swarms

If you need a swarm of bees removed, contact our Swarm Coordinator, Graham Spinks, on 07762 208936 for help and advice.

Alternatively, you can contact one of our members on the British Beekeepers’ Association (BBKA) Swarm Map below.  Type in your postcode and you will find your nearest swarm collector.

BBKA SWARM MAP

Although this is a voluntary service, our beekeepers do incur costs for petrol and so a modest charge may be made depending on the distance travelled.  Any charges will be confirmed before  the beekeeper visits.

Before contacting our Swarm Collectors, make sure that you really DO have a swarm of honey bees and NOT bumble bees.    If you are unsure, look at the images in the slideshow on the right (or below if using a mobile phone).  Alternatively, have a look at the British Beekeepers’ Association’s step-by-step guide to recognising honey bees.

If the swarm is very high up or inside a chimney, loft or cavity wall, our swarm collectors may not be able to help.  Contact Jan French on 07725 166609 and she will give you the telephone number of one of our members who specialises in this type of work.
